JACK IS AN AWARD WINNING PLAYRIGHT

His first play, "Tread Lightly Angel", a comedy, was produced at the Lemon Tree Dinner Theatre. His second play ,"Folly's Quarter, a drama, won the Pickering National Playwriting award. His first attempt at a Children's play resulted in an award for "Best Children's Play Of The Year," by the Kansas City Children's Theatre. His satirical play “Whose (sic) Afraid of Edward Albee,” was developed under a grant from the Greenville South Carolina Theatre Arts Program

His plays have been produced across the country from Hollywood to New York by way of Texas, North and South Carolina and Florida.

He has had three World Premiere productions in local theaters.The above cited “Tread Lightly Angel. "Dorothy Parker...One Foot In Scarsdale, starring Carolyn Michel at Florida Studio Theatre. "Alexander Woollcott...At Wits End," starring the late Eric Tavares, at the same theater. These plays are half of the Algonquin "Quartet". The other plays in the quartet are: Robert Benchley...My Life From A To B.," which premiered at the Circle Theatre in Fort Worth, and "Neysa McMein....Butterfly," workshopped at Florida Studio Theatre but unproduced.

A comedy-farce commissioned by Theatre-Works, "The Maiden Voyage Of M. Perrichon," premiered at that theater to celebrate their tenth-anniversary season.
Jack has taught Playwriting courses at Florida Studio Theatre and was on- staff at FST as Literary-Manager for two years


He is a life-member of the Dramatists Guild. His latest awards have been for short plays presented by Florida Studio Theatre in their Short-Shorts Playwriting Contest and Festival. To date he has had ten in this Contest-Festival. Jack is currently working on a number of monologues for storytelling.


He also writes for the print-media. He has been published by Ziff-Davis and he has eight short-humorous works in two books published by Ageless Press.


He is presently involved in the process of developing a new comedy with Florida Studio Theatre.


He has written two adventure novels.- “Foley’s Brigade,” and “Tomcat Down.”
